Abstract. Bronchopulmonary lymph nodes of remaining lobes, in case there are no macroscopic changes, are usually not subject to biopsy or dissection in the course of surgical treatment of lung cancer. However, there is the possibility of micrometastasizing, which can result in further development of the disease caused by these lymph node groups’ failure. The subject of this investigation: patients’ survival rate varying depending on the kind of surgical treatment (lobectomy, pulmonectomy) and the impact of ipsilateral bronchopulmonary lymph node dissection, generally performed in pulmonectomy. Case histories of the patients treated in Tatarstan Cancer Center and operated in first thoracic department were analyzed. The findings prove the necessity of further investigation of ipsilateral bronchopulmonary lymph nodes’ condition.

Key words: non-small-cell lung cancer, ipsilateral bronchopulmonary lymph nodes, lymph node dissection.
