Abstract. Sixty one operations on account of lung carcinoma were analyzed in this paper. There were 33 sleeve carinal pneumonectomies, 23 — sleeve lobectomies, 2 — sleeve bronchial resections and 3 — noncircumferential resections of the tracheobronchial trunk. The levels of morbidity and mortality were 15 (24,6%) and 6 (9,8%) patients respectively. As tracheoplasty and bronchoplasty operations are associated with acceptable morbidity, mortality and long-term survival they can be recommended.

Key words: lung cancer, sleeve lobectomy, sleeve carinal pneumonectomy, airway defects.
