Abstract. Squamous cell uterine cervix carcinomas frequently develop hypoxic regions during growth and hypoxia may cause resistance to radiation therapy and increased metastatic propensity. This study demonstrates the results of the complex treatment of 53 patients with squamous cell uterine cervix cancer stage IIB. In the preoperative period all patients received a combination of the combined radiotherapy (distant+intracavitary) and intravenous administration of the cysplatin with Wertheim surgery. On the stage of the preoperative chemoradiotherapy 31 patients (among 53 patients) were treated with transrectal insufflation of the ozone-oxygen mixture. We study mean nuclear size, size of tumors cell and tumor-stroma ratio. Under influence of ozone-oxygen mixture the nuclear size, size of tumors cell and tumor-stroma ratio was significantly lower. Results from our study revealed the fact that ozone-oxygen mixture plus radiochemotherapy is a good option for systemic treatment in squamous cell uterine cervix carcinomas patients.
