Abstract. The Inframammary fold (IMF) is an important component of attractive and esthetically normal appearance of a breast, and one of the most important elements of natural breast ptosis. It plays a significant role in the formation and maintenance of a breast shape, as well as it provides support for the implants placed subpectoral that prevent their malposition. Thus, application and development of surgical techniques which properly restore and preserve the position of this anatomical structure, allows to achieve optimal aesthetic results close to the natural breast appearance. We analyzed the importance of IMF for breast reconstruction and the review of modern methods of its restoration is also made.
