RESULTS OF ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH OBSTRUCTIVE JAUNDICE

Abstract. Aim: To evaluate the results of endoscopic treatment of patients with obstructive jaundice.

Materials and methods: In the period from 2008 to 2012 for transpapillary endoscopic interventions were sent 136 patients with obstructive jaundice at the age of 54 to 88 years. Malignant obstruction of the biliary tract origin were 24 patients (17,7%).
Results: The success of retrograde access and performance of a task by biliary decompression in patients with malignant obstructive jaundice genesis was achieved in 20 of 24 patients. In 4 of the 24 patients (16,7%) perform retrograde intervention failed. A serious complication was diagnosed in 1 out of 37 performed retrograde interventions, which amounted to 2.7%. Death occurred in a patient 88 years of acute cardiovascular failure, on the 7th day after the intervention (4,1%).
Conclusion: The effectiveness of methods for endoscopic decompression of the biliary tract in patients with malignant obstructive jaundice genesis was achieved in 83,3%.
